Put the verbs in the brackets into the correct tense. Use the past simple or the past continuous tense.

Matt (go) to the gym when I (see) him yesterday.
You (watch) TV and when you (hear) the shot, you (come) out of the living room.
At two o´clock Mrs Clare (peel) potatoes to make a cottage pie, and Donna Ross (watch) television in the living room.
While he (sit) there, somebody spoke to him.
I (wait) for a train but when it (arrive), it (not stop).
Suddenly, as they (go) along a very busy road, the driver (have) a heart attack.
